SKAGEN funds get mention
SKAGEN Global and SKAGEN Kon-Tiki were selected by fund analysts asked by Swedish newspaper Dagens Industri to create two fund portfolios for 2009, according to Citywire and the newspaper’s own website. Support for CARF
SKAGEN AS has renewed its support of the Children at Risk Foundation (CARF). The Hummingbird Project provides an increasing number of children and young people from the favelas outside São Paulo in Brazil with the opportunity to take part in activities which build skills, interests and faith in the future.

New SKAGEN house in SOS Children’s Villages
A new SOS Children’s Village is currently being constructed in Pskov, Russia. SKAGEN is supporting the work by contributing a further NOK 2 million (EUR 200,000). “The support from SKAGEN means that we can ensure a safer childhood for more children,” says Synne Rønning from the charity SOS Children’s Villages.

Supporting Médecins Sans Frontières in Congo
SKAGEN AS is pleased to be able to support the work of Médecins Sans Frontières and at the same time reinforce its employees’ commitment towards the organisation. This year Médecins Sans Frontières is receiving NOK 2 million (EUR 200,000) to support its medical relief work in Africa, including in East Congo.

Opening times over Christmas and New Year
SKAGEN Funds will be closed from 24 to 26 December 2008 inclusive, as well as on Thursday 1 January 2009. The final deadline for subscriptions in 2008 is Wednesday 31 December at 12pm CET, with certain reservations.

Erik Mellgren Barlebo leaves SKAGEN
Erik Mellgren Barlebo has decided to leave SKAGEN to return to his native Copenhagen. He joined the portfolio team at the beginning of July 2008 and was co-manager of SKAGEN Kon-Tiki, together with Kristoffer Stensrud and Knut Harald Nilsson.

Proposal for new board members
At the electoral meeting set to take place on 18 February 2009, unit holders in SKAGEN will elect a board member and deputy director. Current board member, Jan Henrik Hatlem, and deputy director, Siv Oftedal, are up for election. Unit holders are requested to put forward proposals for candidates.
